A voluntary-run group that provides stimulation and fun for those with memory loss, now in it's 11th year.

SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS

can be a result of a variety of reasons - old age, stroke, dementia, anaesthesia, sadly the list goes on. It is scientifically proven extremely important that people with memory loss do not hide away at home.

Memory loss does not mean that people cannot feel part of the community.  It is also important to have a source of information and support. â€‹

OUR GROUP

is a mixed group of all ages. The reasons for members’ memory loss are varied including some diagnosed with dementia, others who have had strokes and more who are just concerned that their memory is not as good as it used to be.

The group is open to everyone from Tisbury and surrounding villages living with memory loss, and people caring for someone with the condition.

We are very sociable, have a great time with a full programme of information sessions and activities. We learn something new every session, chat, make friends and have a laugh. Oh, and eat homemade cake!

If you'd like to join us, simply turn up to one of our events and have fun.

No joining fees or forms to fill out.

We ask for a £5 donation for programmed events (accompanying carers are not charged for these) and £2 per person for pop up cafes.

Volunteers

Tisbury Memory Group is a voluntary-run group. Our team of helpers is invaluable. Not only do they set up tables and chairs for meetings; they bake cakes and I have lost count of the number of cups of tea and coffee that have made over the years. Most importantly, our splendid team provides support and assistance to everyone who attends a meeting with friendly smiles and time for a chat.  If you have a few hours to spare on a Wednesday, come and join the fun. Equally it would be wonderful even if you cannot stay for a meeting but could just give someone a lift there and back.

Meetings

Hinton Hall in Tisbury (next to St John’s Church) is our base. The post code for your GPS is SP3 6NH.  There is a large, free car park which has easy access to both the large and small halls where we hold our meetings and there are toilets for the disabled. Meetings are held alternate Wednesdays from 10 to 12 unless otherwise advised – see our What's On page.

We ask for a £5 donation for programmed events (accompanying carers are not charged for these) and £2 per person for pop up cafes.

The Memory Group is so special to me as it always brings the community together for smiles and happiness, what more could one want.
